TÜV SÜD services provided by the INDUSTRY business segment range from plant engineering to implementing international climate-change projects or testing sports equipment to ensure its safe functioning in compliance with the standard; experts in the MOBILITY business segment are responsible for tasks from roadworthiness and exhaust emission testing of cars and motorbikes to supporting vehicle manufacturers in gaining worldwide approval of new developments; the PEOPLE business segment supports companies with a variety of services from occupational health and safety to management system certification. Clients benefit from interdisciplinary one-stop solutions and from TÜV SÜD’s more than 140 years of experience.

In 2008, TÜV SÜD increased its consolidated sales almost EUR 1.4 billion.
 

Our background

TÜV SÜD, seeks to continuously improve on our capabilities and services with a strong focus on customer relationship management and the tools required to accurately measure customer satisfaction. As part of this initiative, TÜV SÜD has developed a "Voice of the Customer" module that allows us to implement, measure, and improve the efforts that lead to complete customer satisfaction. Important milestones in recent years

      *  1996 Merger of TÜV Bayern Sachsen and TÜV Südwest to form TÜV Süddeutschland
      *   2003 TÜV Hanse (majority shareholder: TÜV Auto Service GmbH, TÜV SÜD Gruppe) established
      *   2005 TÜV Chemie Service established
     *   2006 Expansion of services in Asia and Northern America through the acquisition of Singapore-based PSB Group and US inspection company PetroChem
     *   2008 Initial and periodic inspection of plants and installations now offered throughout Germany
     *   2009 Launch of Turkey-wide vehicle inspection by TÜVTURK, a joint venture of TÜV SÜD and two Turkish partner companies
